Position Overview
The Landscape Maintenance Specialist is a permanent part-time role responsible for the upkeep of the school grounds, ensuring a safe and inviting environment for both students and staff. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of the outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Landscape Maintenance Specialist include:
- Overseeing the maintenance of grassy areas, flower beds, shrubs, and trees, ensuring they are well-kept and healthy.
- Managing hardscapes such as sports courts and pathways, ensuring they are safe and well-marked.
- Conducting minor repairs and maintenance tasks in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Keeping all gardening tools, equipment, and facilities in optimal condition, promptly reporting any issues.
- Collaborating with the Corporate Services Manager to develop safe work procedures and perform risk assessments as necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations and managing hazardous materials responsibly.
The Landscape Maintenance Specialist is essential in fostering a well-maintained outdoor environment that enhances the learning experience.
