Vet Critical Care Nurse Opportunity in Melbourne

The Animal Referral Hospital, located in the heart of Collingwood, Melbourne, is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a collaborative and supportive environment. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Emergency & Critical Care nurse to join our dynamic team.
About the RoleWe offer a permanent part-time position with a generous remuneration package that includes significant shift loading for non-weekday daytime hours. Our modern facilities and well-equipped hospital ensure that our nurses have access to the latest technology and tools to provide the highest standard of patient care.
In this role, you will work closely with a dedicated team of veterinarians and nurses to care for a diverse range of cases presenting to the Emergency department. You will be responsible for triage, in-patient nursing of critical care patients, assistance with anaesthesia/procedures/surgery, diagnostic sample collection, and communication with owners and referring veterinarians.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Triage and assessment of emergency cases
- In-patient nursing of critical care patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications
- Assistance with anaesthesia, procedures, and surgery as required
- Diagnostic sample collection and processing tests
- Communication with owners and referring veterinarians regarding patient care and treatment plans
As an ideal candidate, you will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be motivated and conscientious, and have a Certificate IV in veterinary nursing or equivalent qualification. Nursing experience in a multi-specialist or emergency and critical care facility is considered beneficial but not essential.
BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary of approximately $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus significant shift loading for non-weekday daytime hours.
