THE OPPORTUNITY

We present an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer within the Global Product and Solutions team. Collaborate with a talented group of engineers to develop high-quality professional software for significant warehouse automation projects. As a logistics solutions system integrator, Dematic provides highly intricate, complete warehouse solutions, integrating a full spectrum of materials handling and storage systems with advanced warehouse software. Our mission is to continuously enhance the supply chain. Our clientele includes businesses of various sizes across eCommerce, retail, manufacturing, export, parcel services, and more.

The Global Products and Solutions team aims to develop cutting-edge technology for our Project Engineering divisions worldwide, ensuring Dematic/KION maintains and expands its market leadership.

Travel throughout the Asia Pacific region to support key clients with meetings and site commissioning. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as part of a team of developers on projects involving software, configuration, documentation, customer communication, and support.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, with developers conducting on-site commissioning. Initial work will be office-based, followed by final implementation and delivery at customer locations.
  • Maintain a balanced approach to travel, ensuring it remains exciting without being overly frequent, and engage with software that is stimulating without being too abstract or overly device-oriented.
  • Engage in full-stack development utilizing a tech stack that includes backend modules with C# and SQL, configuration-based building blocks, C# full application GUIs, and Blazor-based web applications.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Recent Honour Graduates with strong academic records are encouraged to apply.

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in software languages and tools, particularly Microsoft products, including .NET, C#, Blazor, ASP.NET, and WPF/WinForms.
  • Familiarity with modern technologies and programming languages.
  • Experience in object-oriented design and development.
  • Knowledge of MS Windows programming and relational databases.
  • Strong testing skills and understanding of contemporary software development methodologies.

Desirable Experience:

  • Exposure to hardware, electronics, equipment, or controls.
  • Familiarity with languages/platforms such as .NET/C#, Java/J2EE, Delphi XE, SQL Server, and Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of technologies like XML/XSL/CSS, HTTP, SOA, WinForms, WPF, WCF, HTML5, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with modeling tools, such as UML.
  • Development experience for mobile devices and multithreading.
  • Understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.).
