We are seeking an experienced and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at a luxury lodge in the Queensland outback.
The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge and experience in all cooking techniques and styles, with a focus on creating daily changing menus that showcase local ingredients and flavors.
Key responsibilities include ensuring consistency and highest quality in taste, presentation and appropriate food for guests, as well as preparation of hot and cold food including breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
Additionally, the successful candidate will work cohesively and productively with all other departments of the business, providing exceptional time management and organisational skills under pressure.
Requirements- Trade qualified in culinary arts
- Minimum two years experience within a similar standard of kitchen
- Excellent technical knowledge and experience in all cooking techniques and styles
- Experience in daily changing menus is favourable
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a strong team player
- Permanent live in position with the opportunity to explore the surrounding area on days off
- Heavily subsidised colleague accommodation
