Job Overview

The Work Health and Safety Manager will oversee the implementation of a safe work culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations. This role is responsible for providing strategic advice on Work Health and Safety matters, including policy development, effective injury management, and leadership of the WHS team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level support, guidance, and coaching to managers and supervisors on WHS matters, including policy compliance and safety legislation.
  • Lead the development, review, and implementation of WHS policies, procedures, and documentation in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Lead the Work Health and Safety Committee to develop, implement, and monitor strategies that promote a safe work environment and drive continuous improvement in WHS practices across the organization.
  • Respond promptly to notifiable incidents (contractor and organizational) to ensure timely investigation, compliance with reporting requirements, implementation of corrective actions, and prevention of future incidents through improved safety practices.
  • Enhance safety awareness by assisting in employee inductions, providing general WHS training, and participating in toolbox talks and team meetings.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a similar position, including successfully leading a team.
  • Sound knowledge of NSW Work Health and Safety Legislation and related Australian Standards.
  • Thorough understanding of risk management practices and processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Work Health and Safety/Rehabilitation and Return to Work environments.
