Job Overview

We are seeking a Staff Specialist to join our team at the Albion Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.

The successful applicant will have Fellowship of the Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine, RACP and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1973 and the relevant Award/Determination. Preference will be given to applicants with interest and experience in Transgender healthcare.

Responsibilities

- Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.
- Develop/maintain links with partner services, such as the Kirketon Road Centre, Sydney Sexual Health Centre, Shorts Street Centre and HIV and Related Program unit.
- Contribute to projects which increase alignment across the SHBBV services.
- Provide outreach clinical services to Southern LHD when required.

Requirements

- Fellowship of the Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine, RACP and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1973 and the relevant Award/Determination.
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Proven capacity and/or experience in providing medical care to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Work Environment

The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Clinical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD. The service is located at Surry Hills and provides HIV, hepatitis C and sexual health care to priority populations and vulnerable groups.

SESLHD covers nine Local Government Areas from Sydney's Central Business District to the Royal National Park and has a culturally and linguistically diverse population of over 930,000 people.
