Job Title: AWS Cloud Architect

Job Description:

As a Cloud Architect, you will analyze, architect, design, and actively develop cloud data warehouses, data lakes, and other cloud-based data solutions on AWS, utilizing Databricks for data processing and analytics.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and oversee scalable data ingestion frameworks and pipelines for seamless transformation of diverse datasets into a centralized data warehouse.
  2. Innovate cloud-native data solutions such as database structures and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
  3. Build and maintain data integration utilities, data scheduling, and monitoring capabilities, and source-to-target mappings and data lineage trees.
  4. Implement and manage data ingestion, transformation, coding, storage, reporting, and integration.
  5. Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts in the design, development, and deployment of data warehouse solutions.
  6. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate data needs into technical requirements.
  7. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Data Platform performance, resolving technical issues and documenting architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of data engineering and/or data warehousing experience.
  2. 5+ years of deep experience in building AWS data solutions using services such as storage, virtual machines, serverless technologies.
  3. Proven experience in architecture, data modeling, ETL, data engineering, and strong understanding of data security and data governance.
  4. Hands-on experience with Databricks for data processing and analytics.
  5. Working knowledge of agile development including DevOps concepts.
  6. Proficient in a relevant data/development language for cloud platforms (e.g. Python or Spark).
  7. Proficient in SQL.
  8. Effective problem solving, analytical, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Valid visa with full working rights in Australia.
