Strategic Waste Manager Job OverviewThis role offers the opportunity to lead the development and delivery of innovative waste management strategies across the region.Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational performance of the Pilbara Regional Waste Management Facility (PRWMF). They will oversee the integration of waste operations across the Shire, ensuring safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible practices.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic planning and implementation of waste operations
  • Project delivery aligned with the Shire's Strategic Waste Management Plan
  • Business development opportunities, particularly in the mining and decommissioning industries

The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience in complex waste operations, strong knowledge of environmental regulations, and commercial acumen. They must also have excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership abilities.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • Formal qualifications in waste management, environmental science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive leadership experience in complex waste operations
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and Class IV waste facilities
  • Commercial acumen and financial management skills
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership abilities
