Job Overview

NBN Co is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Assurance Engineer to join our Field Operations Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring network quality, making technical decisions, and mentoring other Field technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Network and Service Assurance: Manage and conduct equipment and system-level Network and Service Assurance activities in the field across all NBN technologies.
  2. Network Changes and Upgrades: Perform work instigating changes and upgrades to NBN network platforms and components, including individual cases or program-related activities.
  3. Process Improvement: Demonstrate familiarity with the assessment and accreditation process and actively contribute to process improvement using the PDCA (plan-do-check-act) approach.
  4. Workforce Availability: Meet workforce availability commitments, including participating in an on-call and scheduled night-works roster, as directed.
  5. Emergency Response: Be available to respond to emergency, seasonal, and project-based demand profiles.
  6. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and capability in enhancing network design and support processes.
  7. Technical Advice: Provide technical thought leadership, advice, and actions to support network and customer service activation and maintenance activity.
  8. Problem Solving: Provide leadership and decision making to solve problems in the delivery of projects.
  9. Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise to resolve complex faults on network and customer service cases.
  10. Remote Support: Provide subject matter expert remote support where required for network changes and upgrades.
  11. On-Site Guidance: Provide on-site, complex, and ad-hoc technical guidance for peers, Trainees, and other Field-based employees.
About You

You will come from a technical field background, ideally with strong network assurance experience in one or more NBN technologies such as HFC ISP, Ethernet, DWDM, GPON or VDSL. Having outside plant build experience across Fibre, HFC or Copper network builds would be beneficial.

You will be a natural problem solver with a methodological approach and have an aptitude to learn quickly. Your ability to be flexible, adaptable and cope with conflicting priorities will also see you succeed in this role. Given the nature of this role, you will be a highly organized team player, with the ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic work environment.
