About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in Macquarie University, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of implantable medical devices that restore hearing to individuals with severe hearing loss.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering and extensive experience working with materials used in medical device applications. A proven track record in rapid prototyping, design of experiments, and testing methodologies will be highly regarded.
You will work closely with our cross-functional team to inform design decisions and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet safety and performance standards through rigorous characterisation testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Degree in mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering
- Extensive experience working with materials used in medical device applications
- Proven track record in rapid prototyping, design of experiments, and testing methodologies
- Strong understanding of formal problem-solving processes for root-cause failure analysis
- Proficiency with CAD tools, drawings, and mechanical tolerance analyses
Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 per annum + benefits
