Job Description

Job Title: Digital Preservation Leader

Job Summary:

The Digital Preservation Leader will be responsible for driving the overall digital preservation strategy and leading the teams that contribute to its delivery. This role will play a crucial part in the Digital Preservation Coalition's mission to preserve and provide access to digital cultural heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Progress the NFSA's overall digital preservation strategy and lead the teams that contribute to its delivery.
  • Manage the NFSA's Media Asset Management and Collection Administration Systems.
  • Create and manage preservation workflows.
  • Conduct hands-on digital preservation and forensic activity across a diverse range of media.
  • Co-design the integration of collection data with other business systems.
  • Conduct training and develop documentation.
  • Support curatorial and accessioning staff and activities.
  • Collaborate with digitisation and conservation teams.
  • Engage with colleagues in the Digital branch and across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Contribute to the NFSA's national, regional and international leadership with regards 21st century digital preservation and archiving practices.
  • Develop and implement digital preservation strategies that align with the NFSA's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of digital preservation specialists.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of digital preservation policies and procedures.
