About Our Job

As a key member of our dessert-focused cafe team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy ice cream cafe. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:
    • Lead the day-to-day operations of the cafe, including opening and closing procedures.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked cafe at all times.
    • Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and minimizing waste.
    • Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs or maintenance as needed.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensure all customers receive exceptional service and a memorable experience.
    • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
    • Train staff to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold high standards.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff, including servers, dessert preparers, and cleaners.
    • Create staff schedules and manage time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating the team to achieve goals.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Menu & Product Development:
    • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new and innovative ice cream flavors, desserts, and seasonal offerings.
    • Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards.
    • Monitor food safety and hygiene practices to comply with health regulations.
  • Financial Management:
    • Track expenses and optimize profitability.
    • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue.
    • Handle cash management, including daily cash reconciliations and bank deposits.
  • Marketing & Promotion:
    • Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
    • Plan and promote special events, such as seasonal menu launches or themed dessert nights.
    • Maintain the cafe's social media presence and engage with customers online.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within a cafe, restaurant, or dessert-focused establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for desserts, ice cream, and creating exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic financial management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary or hospitality management degree or certification.
  • Experience in menu development and food costing.
  • Familiarity with social media marketing and event planning.
