As a highly skilled Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our enterprise-grade Microsoft SQL Server environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, which power operations across Australia and beyond.
">Key Responsibilities:
- Manage hundreds of enterprise SQL servers, influencing the performance of critical systems across multiple regions.
- Work with advanced SQL Server features, Always On availability groups, clustering, and automation tools.
- Collaborate with application teams to troubleshoot complex query issues or plan the rollout of new database upgrades.
- Script automation in PowerShell to streamline patching, or design high-availability solutions to keep our systems resilient.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience managing enterprise-grade Microsoft SQL Server environments with deep knowledge of the SQL Server engine.
- Strong background in virtualisation, Windows clustering, and related platform technologies.
- Hands-on experience with high availability and disaster recovery setups like Always On, clustering, and log shipping.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to automate installations, patching, and health checks.
- Solid understanding of backup strategies and data recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale database environments.
- Deep knowledge of SQL Server architecture and functionality.
- Experience working with virtualisation technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Strong understanding of Windows clustering and high availability concepts.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
