As a highly skilled Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our enterprise-grade Microsoft SQL Server environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, which power operations across Australia and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage hundreds of enterprise SQL servers, influencing the performance of critical systems across multiple regions.
  • Work with advanced SQL Server features, Always On availability groups, clustering, and automation tools.
  • Collaborate with application teams to troubleshoot complex query issues or plan the rollout of new database upgrades.
  • Script automation in PowerShell to streamline patching, or design high-availability solutions to keep our systems resilient.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience managing enterprise-grade Microsoft SQL Server environments with deep knowledge of the SQL Server engine.
  • Strong background in virtualisation, Windows clustering, and related platform technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with high availability and disaster recovery setups like Always On, clustering, and log shipping.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to automate installations, patching, and health checks.
  • Solid understanding of backup strategies and data recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale database environments.
  • Deep knowledge of SQL Server architecture and functionality.
  • Experience working with virtualisation technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong understanding of Windows clustering and high availability concepts.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
