Event Operations Specialist

We seek an experienced IT professional to provide technical support for live events across NSW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Operations:
    • Design and implement custom IT solutions for events nationwide
    • Provide on-site technical support for a diverse range of events
    • Work with Windows operating systems, including Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server
    • Install and maintain point-of-sale systems at venues and temporary events
    • Administer and maintain ticketing IT infrastructure and access control systems at client venues
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance and respond to urgent technical needs
    • Use JIRA to track, document, and resolve issues with detailed reporting
    • Install, support, and maintain IT equipment such as servers, switches, and wireless access points
    • Configure VPN connections and network services for temporary deployments
  • Client & Venue Management:
    • Collaborate professionally with clients and event teams
    • Provide technical guidance and support during high-pressure event situations
    • Maintain accurate configuration documentation and system records
    • Respond promptly to service desk requests with fault resolution tracking

The role involves hands-on technical support, field deployments, and collaborating with event teams to ensure reliable technology at venues.

Requirements:
  • At least one year of hands-on technical support experience (L1/L2), preferably with multi-site or field service exposure
  • Experience supporting end users across multiple locations and managing IT infrastructure in dynamic environments
  • Windows administration, POS system management, and VPN technologies
  • Comfortable with Active Directory user management, Microsoft 365, and Jira
  • Cisco networking fundamentals and practical server administration experience
  • Strong client-facing communication and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize under tight deadlines
  • Physically capable of equipment handling and extended periods at event venues

Practical Requirements: Current full NSW driver's license with regular travel across the state. Experience with NSW entertainment venues, stadiums, or event facilities is valuable; familiarity with temporary event deployments is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with NSW entertainment and sporting venues
  • Experience with temporary network deployments and mobile IT solutions
  • Understanding of the fast-paced, deadline-driven nature of live events
  • Cisco certification (CCNA or equivalent) or similar networking qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases
  • Experience with patron access control systems or large-scale event technology
  • Current full Australian driver's license
