Volunteer Community Liaison for Floodplain Management

We are seeking community-minded individuals to join our Floodplain Risk Management Committee in Wagga Wagga. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the effective communication and consultation with community members and key stakeholders regarding floodplain risk management.
The committee's role includes overseeing the implementation of actions contained in the Floodplain Risk Management Plan, ensuring efficient and effective outcomes for the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area.
To succeed in this position, you will require:
- A comprehensive understanding of the committee's objectives and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of the NSW Government's Floodplain Management Program, Flood Prone Land Policy, and the NSW Floodplain Risk Management Process.
- Ability to think strategically and consider the long-term impacts on the community.
- Capacity to interpret and make informed decisions based on data from various sources.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with others, and demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of the community.
This is a voluntary, non-remunerated position with four positions available. We welcome applications from skilled individuals who share our vision for an inclusive and sustainable community.

Salary Estimate
$30,000 - $40,000 per annum (pro-rata) depending on experience and qualifications.
