Job Summary

The Deputy Principal Inclusion and Support is a key leadership role that drives a school-wide culture of inclusion, promoting high expectations and improved outcomes for students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of inclusive practices and policies to support students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and allied health professionals to design and deliver evidence-informed programs that promote learning and wellbeing growth for students with disabilities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, their families, and the community to ensure effective communication and collaboration on reasonable adjustments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes for students with disabilities, using data to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
  • Lead and manage the performance of individuals and teams to build capacity and achieve school-wide goals.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading inclusion and support initiatives in a secondary school setting.
  • Expertise in supporting students with disabilities, including relevant tertiary qualifications in inclusion or special education.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively to support teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
