Our company is a leading manufacturer of galvanized and PVC coated welded wire mesh. We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team.

Job Description:

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems that support manufacturing operations. This includes developing and testing automated processes, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, programming, and supporting automation and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, and SCADA systems.
  • Developing and reviewing electrical control schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Material in compliance with standards.
  • Leading or supporting automation projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and validation.
  • Collaborating with production, maintenance, quality, IT, and customer teams to ensure high levels of collaboration and system integration.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing controls, or related field (10+ years recommended).
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or similar).
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, IO-Link, etc.).
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with robotics, vision systems, sensors, drives, motion control, and pneumatic systems.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

This role requires the ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Occasional travel to vendors, customer sites, or other facilities may be required. Must follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE when on the plant floor.
