Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team. This key role will be responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with existing approvals, as well as approvals management in the form of development consent applications and modifications.

The successful candidate will oversee future mine approvals and coordinate with technical specialists to navigate regulatory pathways effectively.

  • Collaborate with government departments to secure timely approvals, minimising operational delays during reviews by regulatory bodies.
  • Develop strong relationships with regulatory bodies to foster effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with site approvals, licences, leases, and regulations to achieve operational adherence and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee future mine approvals and coordinate with technical specialists to navigate regulatory pathways effectively.
  • Collaborate with government departments to secure timely approvals, minimising operational delays during reviews by regulatory bodies.
  • Develop strong relationships with regulatory bodies to foster effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with site approvals, licences, leases, and regulations to achieve operational adherence and risk mitigation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications at minimum degree level in Science, Environmental Science, Mining Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Extensive experience in leading and managing major project implementation, including mine approval projects, plan development and the development of planning approvals.
  • Extensive experience in environmental management in a mining-related environment including organisational representation to regulators, local governments and community groups.
  • Experience working with environmental legislation & regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying an Environmental Management System to deliver system improvements and to lead change management processes.
