Pastry Chef Apprenticeship Opportunity

The Hospitality Training Network (HTN) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Pastry Chef to join their team.

This apprenticeship is perfect for individuals who are eager to kick-start their culinary career and gain valuable experience in a commercial kitchen environment.

As an Apprentice Pastry Chef, you will work alongside experienced Pastry Chefs, learning various aspects of food preparation and presentation.

You will assist in the preparation of doughs, batters, creams, fillings, and glazes, as well as operate kitchen equipment and learn different knife and cooking techniques.

To be successful in this role, you must have good communication skills, be motivated, and show initiative in your everyday duties.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and be able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency or New Zealand Passport Holder residing in Australia for more than six months.

What's Involved?

As an Apprentice Pastry Chef, you can expect to:

  • Assist in the preparation of doughs, batters, creams, fillings, and glazes.
  • Bake and finish cakes, pastries, breads, and other baked goods.
  • Operate kitchen equipment.
  • Learn different knife and cooking techniques.
  • Clean, maintain, and store kitchen equipment appropriately.
