The Registrar/Pho Psychiatry provides medical services under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist that are evidence-based, efficient, effective, and equitable to consumers within a public health setting. The role is expected to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and Australian Medical Board requirements to practice as a specialist.

Forensic and Secure Services offers specialist secure rehabilitation and forensic mental health services, including:

  • High Security Inpatient Service (70 beds)">
  • Extended Forensic Treatment Rehabilitation Unit (20 beds)">
  • Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (34 beds)">
  • Prison Mental Health Services (covering 9 Correctional Centres)">
  • General Health Service">
  • Specialist Mental Health Intellectual Disability Service (SMHIDS)">
  • Central Staffing Office">

These services provide assessment and treatment for individuals with mental disorders who have a history of criminal offending or are at risk of offending.
