We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Visual Arts Educator to join our school community. The successful candidate will have a passion for inspiring artistic expression in students, while developing their practical and critical thinking skills.

About the Role:
  • The role involves developing and delivering a comprehensive Visual Arts curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering diverse techniques, mediums, and concepts.
  • Creating engaging, differentiated lessons incorporating hands-on projects, demonstrations, discussions, and art history is also a key responsibility of this position.
Responsibilities:
  1. Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver a comprehensive Visual Arts curriculum that aligns with the Victorian Curriculum, covering diverse techniques, mediums, and concepts.
  2. Lesson Planning: Create engaging, differentiated lessons incorporating hands-on projects, demonstrations, discussions, and art history.
  3. Resource Management: Manage art studio resources, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.
  4. Teaching Disciplines: Teach a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, photography, and digital media.
  5. Assessment: Assess student skills and creativity through critiques, portfolio reviews, and exhibitions.
  6. Display Organisation: Organize and curate art displays to showcase student work within the school and community.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular projects.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • VIT Registration: Current VIT registration
  • Teaching Experience: Demonstrate previous teaching or placement experience in teaching Secondary Art in Australia/NZ
  • References: Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
