We are seeking an experienced HSE leader to drive the development and implementation of HSE systems, processes, governance activities, reporting, and continuous improvement opportunities.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will lead the HSE Risk, Governance, and Assurance team to ensure HSE strategy supports business needs and is embedded across the organisation. They will also design and develop initiatives to build HSE governance and risk management capability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the HSE Risk, Governance, and Assurance team to ensure HSE strategy supports business needs and is embedded across the organisation
- Design and develop initiatives to build HSE governance and risk management capability across the organisation
- Promote improvement of hazard, near miss, and incident reporting, and identify programs to improve event reporting culture
- Develop and instil a workplace culture of best practice, focusing on continuous improvement and prioritising health, safety, and environment
- Design and embed a HSE risk, governance, and assurance program across all Business Units, including an audit program and method for validating controls and actions
- Oversee incident investigation processes, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with policy
- Develop assurance and governance processes and drive continuous improvement within HSE Contractor Management systems and processes
- Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, or Environment, Engineering, Technology, or Business discipline
- Lead auditor and ICAM incident investigation lead investigator recognition highly regarded
- Ability to evaluate options and make recommendations based on business strategy and compliance obligations
- Minimum 5 years of HSE leadership experience and 10 years of experience in high-risk industries
- Experience and expertise in developing and improving HSE Management Systems, Risk, Governance, and Assurance
- Comprehensive understanding of HSE legislative frameworks across all jurisdictions and ability to clearly communicate legal requirements
- Experience in incident investigations and management, auditing, and assurance
