Reporting to the Chief Manufacturing & Supply Chain Officer, the HSE Manager will be responsible for developing and executing PolyNovo's Health, Safety, Environment strategies and systems.This role will work closely with Production, Quality and People teams to ensure that HSE systems are not only compliant with all relevant legislation and standards, but also ensuring they are followed and reflective of best practice across our global organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive health and safety strategy and system aligned with Operational goals and regulatory requirementsProvide compliant advice to stakeholders and the business when managing issues or incidentsIdentify, assess, and mitigate psychosocial risks (e.g., workplace stress, burnout, harassment, mental health challenges) across all levels of the organisationPartner with the People team to design and deliver targeted HSE training and awareness programs, building internal capability and promoting accountabilityConduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments to proactively identify potential workplace health and safety issues and develop appropriate action plansLead investigations of workplace health and safety incidents and hazard management, including conducting investigations, root cause analysis, action plans, maintaining accurate records and timely reportingManage emergency response and injury management protocols, maintaining readiness for emergencies and overseeing return-to-work processesWork with relevant leads to ensure all reports including associated documentation are followed up and completed in a confidential, timely fashionPartner with Quality and Production teams to ensure that safety practices and procedures are compliant, followed and are best practiceActive coordination and early involvement in the injury and claims management process with employee, supervisor and medical professionalsCoordinate and manage injury management/return to work processManage long term medical absences, making decisions on approach and managementCollaborate with the People, Legal, Quality and Compliance teams to ensure alignment of health and safety policies with broader employee welfare and regulatory requirementsPrepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on the performance of health and safety initiatives and complianceEvaluate and monitor the effectiveness of health and safety programs, continuously seeking opportunities for improvementServe as the point of contact for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies on matters related to health and safetyEmpower teams and employees to develop a safety mindset and drive to imbed this into daily practices and proceduresQualifications / ExperienceAt least 5 years' work experience in a senior HSE role in a manufacturing environmentTertiary Qualifications, with an HSE focus preferredHSE technical skills (e.g. training, auditing, investigation, learning teams, HOP, etc.)Extensive experience in dealing with chemicals on siteExtensive experience in dealing with a warehouse on siteWhy PolyNovo?
