We are seeking a creative and experienced Senior Mission Writer to develop high-quality resources for The Salvation Army's faith communities across Australia. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers flexibility and opportunities for career growth.

About the Role

This role involves writing and editing engaging content for various formats, including small group outlines, evangelistic tracts, inter-generational segments, and sermon content. You will work closely with the Mission Resource Manager to identify opportunities for innovative resource development and ensure consistent formatting across all resources.

You will be responsible for reviewing and understanding relevant research on lived experiences and promoting opportunities for resource development. Your strong writing and editing skills, combined with your experience in Christian ministry, will enable you to create valuable resources that meet the needs of TSA's faith communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write high-quality resources for TSA's faith communities, including but not limited to small group outlines, evangelistic tracts, inter-generational segments, and sermon content.
  • Edit copy from other Mission writers as required, improving flow, clarity, user-experience, and ensuring consistent formatting.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for relevant and innovative resource development.
  • Review and understand relevant Lived Experience research.
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience writing and editing to a brief (essential).
  • Experience writing and using Christian ministry resources (essential).
  • A relevant state Employee Working with Children Check (essential).
  • Tertiary qualification in theology, ministry, communications, or journalism or related field (preferred).
  • Understanding or experience of Salvation Army corps-based ministry (preferred).
  • Experience in youth or young adults ministry (preferred).

Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
