About the role

The Salvation Army (TSA) Australia is seeking a values-driven and proactive Community Connections Specialist to provide specialist knowledge and expertise in coordinating internal Salvation Army services to support Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) workers. This position will contribute to the Community Connections Program to ensure innovative and client centred service delivery to meet current and future needs.

Reporting to the National Coordinator, this is a fixed-term (until June 2027), full-time position based in Mitcham, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 6.

You will successfully- Develop and implement strategies to integrate PALM workers into the community through the various services offered by the Salvation Army.- Develop materials to grow TSA understanding of the PALM scheme and how they can connect with workers.- Liaise with the National and Regional Coordinators to identify worker needs and where relevant TSA services could meet those needs.- Facilitate access to Salvation Army programs such as emergency relief, housing support, and health services, tailored to meet the needs of PALM workers.- Create a supportive network by connecting PALM workers with relevant internal services and resources that can assist them in their personal and professional lives.- Coordinate outreach programs that provide PALM workers with opportunities for social interaction, cultural exchange, and community involvement.- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the support provided, making adjustments as necessary to improve service delivery and worker satisfaction.- Ensure that PALM workers are well-supported by the Salvation Army's internal services, contributing to their well-being and successful integration into the community.

You will have- A Victoria Working with Children Check.- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field or equivalent relevant experience.- Extensive experience in social and community services program delivery.- An understanding of and commitment to the Christian faith and mission and values of The Salvation Army.
