Emergency Department Registration Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registration Officer to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective registration of all patients that present at the Emergency Department.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. You will also possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have intermediate skills in IT systems, including MS Office and databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure reception desk is kept tidy and presentable and is attended to at all times.
  • Register patients in a timely manner.
  • Support the Patient Liaison & Admission teams where required and assist with the admission of patients from Emergency into the Hospital.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Health Administration or 2 years' experience in health administration roles (preferred)
  • Ability to work 24/7 rotating roster
  • Understanding of medical terminology would be an advantage
  • Intermediate skills in IT systems, in particular MSOffice and databases
  • Demonstrated experience of inpatient management systems e.g. WebPAS
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Aptitude to multitask and work to timelines
  • Trusted to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Exceptional customer service, responding to patients and stakeholders in a timely, efficient, friendly and courteous manner
  • Fluency in English with well-developed oral and written communication
  • Good standard of computer literacy
