Job Description

The Director of Languages and Arts is a key leadership role at the Department of Education, responsible for fostering a rich and diverse Languages and Arts curriculum. The successful applicant will lead collaborative teams to inspire creativity, critical thinking and cultural understanding.

  • Leading Quality Teaching and Learning in collaborative teams through effective leadership and management strategies.
  • Providing strategic and visionary leadership for the Languages and Arts department to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives aligned with the school's business planning to enhance student outcomes.
  • Mentoring high-performing teams through inclusion and collaboration to produce positive educational results.
  • Contributing to the overall vision and direction of the school by building strong relationships with staff.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Implementing change management strategies to lead the school community in adopting opportunities for improved service within the subject area.
  • Contributions to the collaborative development of the school plan involving participative decision-making, policy development and necessary systems establishment.
Qualifications and Eligibility
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
  • Valid Working With Children Check before starting.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting.
