Searson Buck is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to provide expert support and guidance to a state-operated organisation. This temporary role is crucial in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting a positive safety culture across the organisation's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice and guidance on Work Health and Safety (WHS) matters to various divisions.
- Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with WHS and legislation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Coach and influence team members to cultivate a positive safety culture, promoting a proactive approach to WHS.
- Assist in developing and reviewing risk assessments, Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA), and safety management systems, ensuring they are aligned with organisational policies and procedures.
- Lead safety investigations and support incident management processes, conducting thorough root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver internal WHS training and mentor managers on incident investigation procedures, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to manage WHS effectively.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
- Lead Auditor qualifications (AS4801/ISO45001).
- Proven experience in safety auditing, incident investigations, and WHS compliance, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and promote a positive safety culture.
- Familiarity with WHS and marine legislation is highly desirable.
