Job Title: GIS DevOps/Cloud Engineer

Our client, a leading provider of innovative solutions, is seeking a highly skilled GIS DevOps/Cloud Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud services automation toolsets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop cloud services automation toolsets using modern programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Ruby.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Implement and manage configuration management using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and implement modern security concepts in web applications and cloud platforms.
  • Develop and maintain relational databases and NoSQL databases.
  • Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery systems.
  • Manage change and risk in relation to releases and versions of software and supporting dependent components.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life-cycle.
  • Demonstrable web development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, and Ruby or other modern programming languages.
  • Proven experience in software engineering best practices using source control and automated testing.
  • Commercial cloud automation experience in AWS (preferably) or Azure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of the philosophy of Infrastructure as Code.
  • Configuration management experience using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
  • A deep understanding of modern security concepts in web applications and cloud platforms.
  • The ability to define architecture/design where required to communicate complex implementation concepts.
  • Experience with Relational Database and NoSQL development.
  • Experience with Agile project methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Experience in implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery systems.
  • Experience with change management/risk management in relation to releases and versions of software and supporting dependent components.
  • Prior knowledge with GIS products is required.
