At EBR, we're seeking a skilled GIS Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our national team, you'll be responsible for developing and managing cloud services automation tools for AWS and other public clouds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage cloud services automation tools for AWS and other public clouds.
  • Manage the lifecycle of cloud services tools from development to deployment.
  • Apply continuous integration knowledge for defining automated build/test processes.
  • Manage development and deployment using best practice guidelines.
  • Derive business requirements from consulting, software, or training environments.
  • Define and communicate complex system implementation signs.
  • Work to schedules and deliver to commitments.
  • Adhere to ITIL services framework.
  • Commit to continuous personal improvement.
  • Consult with the wider IT team to deliver robust applications to the cloud services department and clients.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and consultation qualities.
  • Maintain and foster good external relationships with partners.
  • Exhibit a clear customer focus to deliver compelling customer service.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the software development life-cycle.
  • Demonstrable web development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, and Ruby or other modern programming languages.
  • Proven experience in software engineering best practices using source control and automated testing.
  • Commercial cloud automation experience in AWS or Azure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • A strong understanding of the philosophy of infrastructure as code.
  • Configuration management experience using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
  • A deep understanding of modern security concepts in web applications and cloud platforms.
  • The ability to define architecture/design where required.
  • Experience with relational database and NoSQL development.
  • Experience with Agile project methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Experience in implementing continuous integration/continuous delivery systems.
  • Experience with change management/risk management in relation to releases and versions of software and supporting dependent components.
  • Prior knowledge with GIS products is required.
