Aboriginal Health Education Opportunity

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners is seeking a skilled professional to serve as the Head of Medical Education. This newly created opportunity will be based anywhere in Australia and is a permanent role with flexible work arrangements.

As the Head of Medical Education, you will oversee the national governance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health education in GP training. You will develop, implement, and maintain culturally safe training programs, collaborate with key stakeholders, and support GP registrars and supervisors nationwide.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading national governance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health education in GP training
  • Developing and implementing culturally safe training programs for registrars and supervisors
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to align education with national frameworks
  • Supporting and mentoring GP registrars and supervisors in cultural education

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
  • Proven leadership in medical education and training
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
  • RACGP or ACRRM fellowship with current clinical practice
