Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mining Engineer to lead the planning, implementation, and direction of engineering aspects of Underground Mining Operations at our Norseman Gold Operation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing drill/blast designs to minimize dilution and maximize gold recovery. They will also prepare accurate short-term mining schedules to meet mine targets, liaise with senior mine engineers on schedule priorities, and assist in productivity rate analysis for longer term schedules.

Additionally, the Mining Engineer will coordinate and manage daily mine production activities to achieve targets, conduct daily reconciliation and variance analysis against designs and schedules, and identify and investigate production bottlenecks to implement mitigation methods.

They will work closely with Mine Surveyors, Geologists, and Contractor Supervision team to ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety Act and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022, as well as site safety policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Strong knowledge of mine planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
