Motor Diesel Fitter Job Description

The Motor Diesel Fitter will be responsible for performing inspections, upkeep and repairs on diesel engines and mechanical components of trucks, buses and heavy vehicles.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with emission standards.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical malfunctions in engines and associated systems.
  • Inspecting vehicles and providing roadworthiness certifications or recommending repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively.
  • Developed time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience in exercising good judgment in appraising difficult situations and making appropriate decisions pertaining to equipment condition.
