We are seeking a skilled Assembly and Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, fitting, and maintenance of components for truck-mounted elevated work platforms (EWPs).
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision in a high-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, fit, and maintain mechanical components and systems for truck-mounted EWPs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise assembly and fitment of parts.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, and other machinery to fabricate parts with tight tolerances.
- Perform maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on mechanical systems, ensuring they meet operational and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on EWPs to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions in mechanical systems, determining appropriate repair solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and improve mechanical designs.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with industry safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Keep detailed records of work completed, parts used, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Assembly and Maintenance Technician, preferably with experience in heavy machinery or truck-mounted EWPs.
- Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, and other precision machining tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
- High attention to detail and commitment to precision in fitting and assembly work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Trade certification in assembly and maintenance or mechanical engineering is required.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and work in various conditions.
