Language Officer - Strategic Language Capability

The position of Language Officer is crucial in the development of Navy's foreign language and cultural capabilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, stakeholder management, and communication abilities to manage and lead a team.

About the Role:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of Navy's foreign language and culture strategy under broad direction.
  • Define and manage Navy's foreign language requirements, including interdependencies with cultural understanding.
  • Evaluate and enhance the capability to address contemporary and emergent Navy and Joint demands.
  • Act as a conduit for Navy members seeking information on and nominating for language courses and testing.
  • Manage nominations and post-course administration for Navy members attending language courses.
