Job Title:

Aircraft Structural Integrity Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced structural engineer to manage the continued airworthiness of a fleet of military aircraft.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an Aircraft Structural Integrity Management Plan, ensuring that aircraft operate within their design certification basis, and providing advice on usage, fatigue management, and Continued Airworthiness.

The specialist will also liaise with regulators to ensure compliance and best practices, assess modifications for potential impact on fatigue or usage, participate in proposal and technical report development, and stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies into designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an Aircraft Structural Integrity Management Plan
  • Ensure aircraft operate within their design certification basis
  • Provide advice to engineering management on usage, fatigue management, and Continued Airworthiness
  • Liaise with regulators to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Assess modifications for potential impact on fatigue or usage
  • Participate in proposal and technical report development
  • Stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies into designs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in structural engineering, with an understanding of continued airworthiness
  • Comfortable briefing and advising engineering management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible for an Australian defence security clearance
