Youth Development Coach Role Overview">

The Youth Development Coach delivers the Education First Youth Foyer model to students, working within the Advantage Thinking framework. This involves coaching students to achieve their education and employment goals.

  • Implement the EFYF model using Advantage Thinking approach.
  • Assess and intake new students.
  • Support students to develop individualised Learning Plans.
  • Meet with students at least fortnightly.
  • Plan and deliver activities.
  • Use brokerage to assist students achieve goals.
  • Connect students to resources and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including TasTAFE.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and collect data.
  • Meet performance indicators.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Housing Connect system and young people's pathways.
  • Knowledge of educational opportunities, including vocational pathways.
  • Knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues relating to homelessness.
  • Understanding of Tasmania's current housing market and difficulties facing low-income people.
  • Concepts of social justice, social inclusion, and empowerment.
  • Demonstrated skills in assisting people experiencing disadvantage.
  • High-level interpersonal skills, including engagement with young people and stakeholders.
