Job Opportunity

The Town of Gawler seeks an experienced and dedicated individual to lead aquatic programs at the Gawler Aquatic Centre.

This community facility offers a range of programs for all ages. The centre features a 50-metre outdoor pool, a program and toddler pool, a splash pad, and shaded areas.

As the Aquatic Programs Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing engaging aquatic programs for all ages. This includes looking for opportunities to maximise pool use in off-peak periods, expanding and enhancing the popular Learn to Swim program, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for program and facility planning, creating and maintaining effective marketing and promotional materials, and ensuring the Centre operates to industry best practices.

You will also provide leadership and direction to direct reports, undertake recruitment, training, rostering and evaluation, promote and oversee Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Risk Management systems.

The successful candidate will have qualifications and experience in aquatic facility program delivery and engaging with the public. They will hold formal qualifications in Sports Administration, Aquatic or Community Recreation Management or a similar discipline, current First Aid and CPR, Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate, Current Department of Human Services Working with Children Check, Safe Environment for children and young people 'through their eyes' Training, and a Current unimpeded South Australian Driver's License.
