About the Opportunity
The Town of Gawler has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated individual to join our team as the Aquatic Programs Coordinator at the Gawler Aquatic Centre
The Gawler Aquatic Centre is the pride of the North, known for its deep community ties and its role as one of Gawler's most beloved community facilities.
Featuring a 50-metre outdoor pool, a program and toddler pool, a splash pad, and shaded areas, the Centre offers plenty of outdoor enjoyment for everyone.
Operating from October through April, the Centre offers a wide range of community and council-led programming.
A highlight is our thrivingLearn to Swimprogram, which holds a special place in the community by delivering essential swimming lessons and water safety education to local children.
Our winter closure allows for focused planning, improvements, and preparations for the next season.
What you'll be doing
Leading, developing, and implementing engaging aquatic programs for all ages
Look for opportunities to maximise pool use in off peak periods
Expanding and enhancing the popular Learn to Swim program to reach even more local families
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for program and facility planning
Creating and maintaining effective marketing and promotional materials
Ensuring the Centre operates to industry best practices, with a high commitment to safety and service quality
Provide leadership and direction to direct reports, and undertake recruitment, training, rostering and evaluation
Promoting and overseeing Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Risk Management systems
As Aquatic Programs Coordinator, you'll play a key role in delivering top-quality service and managing the Centre's programs.
With a strong emphasis on safety and a proactive approach to WHS, you'll ensure that every program—from Aqua aerobics and fitness classes to birthday party bookings and our well-loved Learn to Swim program—runs smoothly and successfully.

Salary- Fulltime position with competitive Salary, $92,670 to $98,851 plus 12% Superannuation

About You
You are a motivated, enthusiastic professional passionate about making a positive impact on the Town of Gawler and its community.
You have qualifications and experience in aquatic facility program delivery and engaging with the public.
To be successful in securing a position, you will hold the below certificates:
Formal Qualifications in Sports Administration, Aquatic or Community Recreation Management or a similar discipline
Current First Aid and CPR
Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate
Current Department of Human Services Working with Children Check
Safe Environment for children and young people ' through their eyes' Training (Mandated notification) or willingness to obtain
Current unimpeded South Australian Driver's License
Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Extension Certificates
