Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to enhance our existing data systems, collect, manage and convert data for meaningful interpretation by our teams.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources. They will collaborate with data scientists, analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data solutions meet business needs.

This role involves implementing and optimising data models, data architecture and data warehousing solutions for efficient data retrieval and analysis. The successful candidate will also monitor data systems' performance, identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimise data processing and storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain data pipelines using big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective data solutions.
  • Data Modelling and Architecture: Design and implement data models and architectures for efficient data retrieval.
  • System Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimise data system performance.
  • Data Security: Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, Scala or SQL.
  • Big Data Technologies: Proficiency in working with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
  • Data Modelling and ETL Development: Experience with data modeling and ETL development.
  • Database Systems: Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
