About the Job

This is a Warehouse Labourer role where you will work under supervision in an early morning shift. The job involves operating forklifts and material handling equipment, inspecting them before use, and reporting any issues to maintenance.

You will be responsible for loading and unloading materials from trucks, containers, and pallets, ensuring accurate placement of goods to prevent damage and facilitate efficient handling. You will also communicate with drivers to ensure safe docking.

In this role, you will organize and maintain inventory in designated areas, conduct regular inventory checks, and report discrepancies. You will also maintain accurate records of materials moved and document any damage or issues with goods or equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Inspect forklifts before use and report any issues to maintenance.
  • Loading and unloading materials from trucks, containers, and pallets.
  • Ensure accurate placement of goods to prevent damage and facilitate efficient handling.
  • Communicate with drivers to ensure safe docking.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in designated areas.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved.
  • Document any damage or issues with goods or equipment.

Additional Tasks:

  • Respond to communications for the market sales team for late orders and stock top-ups.
  • Locate stock and load market transport, record product type and either transfer stock or communicate to the stock control team.
  • Transport stock to Brisbane market floor/warehouse if required.

Requirements:

  • Current Forklift license
  • Current Drivers license
  • Ability to work within cold storage environments
  • Knowledge of warehousing/stores
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and material handling techniques
  • Ability to operate forklifts efficiently
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic math and record-keeping skills
