Job Title: Security Advisor

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Security Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will provide security advice to stakeholders and assist with managing security incidents.

Main Responsibilities
  • Jointly manage the Protective Security inbox by processing routine tasks and providing security advice to stakeholders.
  • Risk assess personnel security outcomes and requests.
  • Assist with managing security incidents according to Commonwealth and departmental policies.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on security risks and threats to department requirements.
  • Provide quality assurance for operational processes.
  • Support the Assistant Director of Security Operations and Security Advisors in their duties and provide strategic advice when required.
  • Offer guidance and oversight to junior staff (Security Administrators).
  • Contribute to Governance functions within the team, including assisting in the development and implementation of whole-of-Department Security Plans.
Requirements
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Certificate IV (Security) or equivalent.
  • Hold or be able to obtain Negative Vetting 1 Clearance.
Work Arrangements

This role is based in Canberra and requires working in the office four days a week. The initial contract will last for three months, with a high possibility of extension.
