Role Overview

This 12-month Fixed Term role as a Privacy Officer will play a key part in supporting the Suncorp Bank within the ANZ Group. As a trusted advisor, you will provide specialist advice on implementing the Suncorp Bank Privacy Policy and related standards, ensuring compliance with the Privacy Act and mandatory data breach reporting requirements.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance to the business on interpreting and implementing frameworks and policies.
  • Advise the business on data trends and forecasts, informing strategic decisions.
  • Oversight of Privacy framework implementation and policy adherence.
  • Contribute to the leadership team's priorities and collaborate with colleagues to drive the success of the Bank's CRO team.
  • Assist the Executive Manager Compliance Advisory in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, providing strategic oversight and compliance advice.
  • Deliver practical and commercially focused compliance advice to the business, CRO teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor compliance control effectiveness, governance arrangements, compliance plans, and controls across the Bank's business portfolios.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory compliance, obligations, licences, and key projects.
  • Support the breach management framework, including regulatory reporting requirements and breach notifications.
What You Will Bring
  • A minimum of extensive years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, legal or commercial fields within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Privacy requirements, regulatory guidance, and industry codes.
  • Collaboration and team skills, with the ability to foster a productive culture across businesses.
  • Prioritization and conflict resolution skills, managing professional and risk-based issues effectively.
  • Innovation and adaptability in response to latest developments in your area of expertise.
  • Experience dealing with senior management and influencing decision-making processes.
Estimated Salary Range

Australian dollar $110,000 - $140,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
