Director Of Technical Operations

Job Title
Lead a team of 60 engineers across 6 IPTs with 6 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic goals and continuous improvement through engineering operations and initiatives.
- Collaborate across departments to share knowledge, improve processes, and manage engineering risks.
- Define departmental structure, strategy, processes, and future direction aligned with business objectives.
- Recruit, second, and train a skilled and engaged workforce.
- Oversee project estimates, schedules, and resource allocation for timely delivery.
- Monitor engineering activities for quality, compliance, and adherence to ASC policies.
About You:
- Hold a qualification in engineering and complex project management with 8+ years of experience leading large technical programs.
- Have expertise in Naval systems design, sustainment, and engineering delivery.
- Be skilled in leading technical teams and shaping organisational models.
- Possess strong strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and project recovery skills.
- Be confident in lifecycle, configuration, safety, and engineering governance.
- Be proactive, adaptable, and able to energise teams for high performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance are required.
- Clearance must be maintained throughout the employment period.
