We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the store.

  • Assist with leading, coaching and developing a small team
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection and technical advice
  • Build strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Tint and prepare paint products to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain stock control and manage inventory levels
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries
  • Process Point of Sale (POS) transactions and reconcile at the end of each day
  • Make local deliveries to trade customers using company vehicles when necessary
  • Contribute to in-store displays, store presentation, and merchandising initiatives
  • Support the Sales team in driving growth across trade, industrial, and retail businesses
  • Prioritize safety protocols within the store environment
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership skills complemented by experience in coaching, developing, and mentoring teams
  • Previous experience working as a second-in-command in a customer-facing role within retail or sales
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems or equivalent technology
  • Experience handling stock management and merchandising responsibilities
  • Effective time management and planning capabilities
  • Ability to handle pressure and remain resilient in a fast-paced work environment
  • Autonomy to make decisions and implement improvements
  • An unrestricted driver's license and physical ability to perform manual tasks, such as lifting 15-liter paint cans
