Business Development Lead

We are seeking an accomplished Business Development professional to drive sales growth and lead our e-commerce efforts in the Australasian region.

This role involves a hybrid work arrangement, with office space available in Sydney, Australia. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding online (Shopify & marketplaces) and retail channels.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of consumer behavior, digital marketing, retail operations, marketplace management, and e-commerce strategies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Analyzing market trends and developing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Identifying expansion opportunities across all product types and sales channels, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure alignment on plans, projects, and strategies.
E-Commerce Leadership
  • Providing e-commerce vision and operational excellence for the Australasian region.
  • Managing sales revenue targets for the online retail channel (own website and marketplaces), delivering on short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service and experience from initial contact through to delivery.
Retail Channel Development
  • In partnership with the Head of Consumer Automotive, redeveloping and optimizing retail channels in the Australasian region.
  • Supporting the launch and/or ongoing sales of new/existing products in retail and ePartner sales channels as required.
  • Building relationships with industry partners to develop commercial opportunities.
Operational Efficiency
  • Collaborating with the Head of Consumer Automotive to identify and implement efficiency gains and cost savings.
  • Developing local relationships with key suppliers (e.g., print, distribution, data providers) to enable effective on-the-ground management.
  • Seeking and implementing process improvements internally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in e-commerce management with a track record of delivering sales growth.
  • Experience in retail or consumer-oriented industries a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent understanding of digital marketing channels and tactics, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media.
  • Proficiency in e-commerce platforms — Shopify Plus highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Proficiency in customer management tools (Gorgias, Bloomreach).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
