Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Arboriculture Specialist to join our team at Arborcraft tree services PTY LTD.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a professional arborist to work on large scale commercial works, as well as domestic and council division projects.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking tree services and maintenance works using chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other ancillary equipment.
  • You will be working independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify hazards and implement safe operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Safely cross-cut fallen timber using compression and tension cuts with a hand-held chainsaw.
  • Demonstrate safe and environmentally responsible workplace practices, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Obtain relevant licenses and permits required for the role.
  • Read and interpret manufacturer's specifications, work and maintenance plans, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).
  • Effectively communicate information, interpret and apply task instructions, and maintain records and reports.
  • Estimate and measure dimensions, and calculate volumes.
  • Recognize caution or hazard signs and symbols, and take necessary actions to mitigate risks.
  • Interpret tasks or information from labels, manuals, or written instructions.
  • Record information accurately or verbally report information to team leaders and supervisors.
  • Use literacy skills to follow sequenced written instructions and record information accurately and legibly.
  • Use oral communication skills/language competence to fulfill the job role as specified by the organisation, including questioning, active listening, asking for clarification, and seeking advice from supervisors.
  • Use numeracy skills to estimate, calculate, and record routine workplace measures.
  • Use interpersonal skills to relate to people from a range of social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds and with a range of physical and mental abilities.

Requirements:

  • Traffic Management tickets.
  • Senior first aid certification.
  • A White Card.
  • Cert 2 Vesi or desirable training can be provided.
  • An MR licence.
  • An Excavator ticket.
  • A Chipper ticket.
  • A Chainsaw ticket.
  • An EWP Ticket.
