About the RoleThe Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) Officer plays a vital role in implementing local health promotional activities with a focus on tackling indigenous smoking initiatives. This position requires strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities- Implement local health promotional activities to reduce indigenous smoking rates.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with community members, service providers, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans and programs to address indigenous smoking issues.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as health promotion, public health, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in Indigenous health or a related field, preferably in Central Australia.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
- Cultural awareness and understanding of Indigenous perspectives and protocols.
- A competitive salary range of $74,470 - $82,855 per annum.
- Total effective package: $93,499 - $102,934 per annum.*
- Full-time maximum term contract until 30 June 2026.
- Aboriginal male-identified position.
