Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse

The role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated and highly skilled team, providing nursing consultancy and expertise on prostate cancer care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disease and Treatment Related Care:
    • Initial assessment of need using a systematic evidence-based approach
    • Maintaining accurate records of nursing assessments and outcomes
    • Triage patients to determine areas of need and levels of assistance required
    • Maintaining understanding of the rationale for the use of treatments and therapies used in the management of prostate cancer and their related clinical effects
    • Identifying opportunities for patients to participate in clinical trials
    • Providing ongoing psychosocial support in accordance with individual needs
  • Coordinated Care:
    • Coordinates patient caseloads and ensures continuity of care
    • Ensures key elements of care occur in an ordered and timely manner
    • Identifies and makes referrals to appropriate health and social agencies as needed
  • Information Provision and Education:
    • Identifying educational and supportive care needs of people affected by cancer
    • Providing direct education to people affected by cancer within various settings
    • Supporting and empowering patients to influence decisions concerning their care
  • Collaborative and Therapeutic Practice:
    • Maintaining communication and links with other members of the cancer care team
    • Supporting the delivery of multidisciplinary care and participating in MDT meetings or video conferencing

Requirements
