Specialist Gastroenterologist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Gastroenterologist to join our healthcare team at Canterbury Hospital.

  • To deliver high-quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Gastroenterology/Hepatology.
  • To participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities under the General Medicine Department as required.

The successful candidate will be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Gastroenterology) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition. They will also have a strong understanding of academic medicine and education principles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care through clinical expertise and leadership within the department.
  • Participate in educational programs for medical students and junior doctors.
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Registration with AHPRA.
  • Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Gastroenterology).
